Chapter 76 Check-Up

• When Victoria arrived at the office, she went to her father’s office. “Good morning Daddy, are you well?” Her father was so happy to see her, “I’m well, thank you my beautiful daughter. How are my grandchildren?” Victoria smiled and replied, “They are well, thank you Dad, and we are going for a check-up today at 1 pm.” Her father became excited, “do you mind if I come with you?” Victoria smiled and replied, “I don’t mind Dad, and my father-in-law is coming with us as well. We will leave just after 12 pm.” Her father was grinning from ear to ear, and then she left her father’s office.
• Victoria went to her office; Jonathan reminded her about the meeting. The Pretoria Subsidiary company was not doing well. Her father tasked her to find a solution. She sent two headquarters managers to investigate the problem. They disguised themselves as customers, they spent twenty minutes at the reception, and nobody asked them anything. They were busy talking on their private phones. Since they didn’t have an appointment, they were refused to see the General Manager. They found out that they had poor customer service; hence the Pretoria Subsidiary was performing badly. They had arranged to have a Zoom meeting. Victoria told them that they had received a lot of complaints regarding poor customer service. As a result, she sent her managers, and they were refused to see the General Manager. She asked the General Manager to give her an explanation in three days. Then the meeting was adjourned.
• Mark left his office at 12 pm to accompany his wife for a check-up. When he arrived at Lewis Group, Victoria was with Jonathan waiting for him. Her eyes lit up when she saw him. Mark greeted them and kissed his wife and said, “Are you ready to leave?” Victoria nodded her head, “My Dad is going with us as well.” Mark took her handbag. When they were about to leave, Jonathan asked, “Big Brother, do you mind if I go with you too?” Mark told him that he was welcome to join them. He was excited, and then he left with them. At the parking lot they met Mr Lewis, “Hello son, how are you?” Mark smiled at his father-in-law and replied, “Hello Dad, I’m well thank you and how are you?” His father-in-law was grinning from ear to ear, “I’m well son, and I can’t wait to see my grandchildren. Jonathan, let’s go together.” When they arrived at the JHB General hospital, Victoria’s father-in-law was waiting for them at the parking lot. He smiled at them, and then they walked to the JHB General hospital. When they passed the waiting room, they saw Mr Johnson and James. They went to them. Victoria asked Mr Johnson, “Dad, why are you here?” Mr Johnson replied with sadness, “My wife was attacked by the reporters while she was waiting for me outside the police station.” Everyone was shocked, Victoria hugged him and said, “I’m so sorry Dad, we didn’t tell anyone that Mrs Johnson would be released today, how the reporters found out?” Mr Johnson looked at her and replied, “Chief Smith told me that they arrested a Celebrity yesterday and he warned me about the reporters. They were waiting for that Celebrity; my wife was at the wrong place at the wrong time. I left early but there was a roadblock. I arrived at the police station at 12 pm but she was already rushed to the hospital.” James’ eyes were on Victoria; he saw her kindness and cursed himself in his heart for falling in love with the wrong person. “I hope she will be alright Dad, where is Serene?” Mr Johnson looked at her confused and replied, “Chief Smith didn’t say anything about Serene, I don’t think that she was released.” Mr Timothy said, “I asked Chief Smith to release Serene as well, but he said since she was charged with attempted murder, she must appear before court and apply for bail. They were waiting for Macy to be discharged from the hospital.” Everyone was dumbfounded. Mr Johnson thanked Mr Anthony for releasing his wife. “Why are you here?” Victoria told him that they had an appointment with the Gynecologist. Then they left. James’ eyes never left Victoria, but she ignored him. Jonathan was so upset; he would never allow James to steal his sister-in-law.
