Chapter 160 Serene's Baby Shower

• During the week, Samantha asked her friends to wear brown or blue. On Saturday morning, Mr Johnson woke up early, then he left around 10 am without saying a word to his wife to help with the decorations. Samantha arrived at 10:30 am to decorate the venue. Mr Johnson was already there waiting for her. She didn't expect one of the richest men in the city to come and help her. She greeted Mr Johnson and thanked him for availing himself. Mr Johnson gave her a cheque of R30 000 to cover all the expenses. Samantha told him that all expenses had been paid but he insisted that Samantha take the cheque. Samantha thanked him with a smile and said, "Mr Johnson, please inflate these balloons for me." Then she gave Mr Johnson powdered blue and brown balloons and helium. She told Mr Johnson that they chose cream, light brown, and powdered blue as a theme. He indicated that it was a beautiful theme, and it was unique.
• He started to inflate the balloons, then Samantha tied them with a ribbon. She made a half moon, then she cut powdered blue paper. She made stars. She hung the stars on the moon. After that, she took a brown balloon and she painted the eyes. She made ears, nose, and arms. She put a powdered blue pacifier in the baby's mouth. She made the body with a powdered blue balloon. She placed the baby on the moon. Then she placed the half-moon at the front of the room. Next to the moon she put a huge chair where Serene would sit. Then she placed powdered blue and brown cake on the table and blue and brown cupcakes on a small table. Also, there was an extra table where the guests would put their presents on it. They had a long rectangle table for the guests. She put a nice powdered blue table cloth and a light brown table runner. On the table there were clear underplates and white plates, then they put powdered blue and light brown napkins. She put white roses and candles on silver pedestals as centerpieces. The hotel provided them with Tiffany chairs, then she tied some of the balloons to the chairs. It was stunning when you raised your eyes to the ceiling. Powder blue and brown balloons were floating. The private room was breathtakingly beautiful. Macy and Linda came together. They were amazed when they saw the decorations. It was amazing. Macy thanked Mr Johnson and Samantha. She hugged her friends and said, "My grandmother is not well, so my father postponed her birthday banquet to the 28th of this month and I hope you will come." Her friends promised to come and wished her grandmother a speedy recovery. The guests started to arrive with their gifts. Samantha took the gifts and placed them on the gift table.
• At 11: 30, Mrs Johnson told Serene that she was invited by her friends to a High Tea, then she left. When Mrs Johnson arrived at the venue with gifts, she was surprised to see her husband busy decorating the venue. She went to him, she lowered her voice and said, "what are you doing here? Please leave, don't spoil Serene's baby shower." Mr Johnson just ignored her. James walked to his mother and said, "I'm so happy my Dad is here to celebrate this event with us. Thank you Dad for coming. It means a lot to me." His mother was dumbfounded, then she left them alone.
