Chapter 37 I am Pregnant

• At Serene’s apartment, James was packing his stuff. Serene was trying to stop him from packing. “James, are you leaving me, what have I done?” cried Serene. “Serene, I’m no longer in love with you, I don’t think you ever loved me, I’m miserable with you.” Serene cried sorrowfully, even though she didn’t love James, but she loved Johnson’s wealth and status. James ignored her, he asked Butler Ed to put his stuff in the car. “Serene, I have given you all my heart, but you haven’t given me even five percent of your heart. You chose your friends over me. I’m so tired. I was blind loving you; my parents were against our love, but I fought for you. I even threatened them that I would kill myself for you, but what did I get in return?”
• “I promised James I'm going to be a good wife to you. Please forgive me, I will change,” said Serene with tears in her eyes. She would be a laughingstock to her friends should James leave her, just being James’s girlfriend had opened so many doors for her, how could she live without James? “It’s too late Serene, let’s stop pretending, it is over, I don’t want to see you again.” Serene wiped her tears in her face, “did you fall in love with Victoria? Are you dumping me for her?” James didn’t deny Serene’s allegations, “please don’t involve Victoria in this issue, this is between you and me. Serene, you took my love for granted.” After that, he didn’t give Serene time to respond. Then he left with Butler Ed. Serene was so sad, she cried for a long time.
• She called her friends over. She told them that James dumped her because of Victoria. They were so upset. They promised to beat Victoria up when they saw her. They spent time with her. In a few days she lost a lot of weight, and she was pale. She couldn’t eat or sleep. James turned her world upside down, she felt lost. Her best friend Macy Michael went to Serene’s apartment to check on her. She found her pale and weak. She called an ambulance. She was rushed to the JHB General hospital and put on a drip. The doctor took her blood to conduct more tests. He told Serene that she was eight weeks pregnant. She was so happy she cried. She decided not to call James but his mother, “Mom, it’s Serene; I’m in JHB General hospital. I was not well. The doctor conducted some tests and they found that I’m eight weeks pregnant.” It was the first time she had called Mrs Johnson “Mom.”
