Chapter 217 Wedding Day (THE END)

• Six months later, at the Lewis mansion, the atmosphere was lively. The Fish family and the Paul family arrived a week earlier. They couldn’t wait to witness the wedding of Victoria and Mark. Grandma Fish was over the moon. She was smiling from ear to ear. Mr Lewis’ brothers came with their daughters and their sister, Rebecca. They arrived on Friday afternoon. Their big brother was surprised to see them because they told him that they wouldn’t make it to the wedding. He felt that they were not happy to be around him. He looked at his sister, Rebecca, and asked, “Did you force your brothers to come?” Rebecca smiled but she didn’t utter a word.
• At that moment, Victoria entered the house. She was coming from the premarital counseling with Pastor Basil. She didn’t know the men sitting with her father. She greeted everyone, and then she hugged her aunt. She wasn’t happy to see her but Aunt Rebecca was a relative. Her father smiled at Victoria and said, “Sweetheart, greet your uncles properly.” Victoria walked to them and shook their hands. She sensed hostility from them. One of her uncles said, “Since you got engaged four years ago why did you take so long to get married?” Victoria looked at her uncle and replied smiling, “There was no hurry, uncle, because we registered our marriage five years ago. Also, we wanted our children to be present on our big day.” Her uncle looked at her annoyed. It was Sylvia’s father who spoke. Victoria’s father looked at his younger brother with cold eyes and asked, “Didn’t you say that you won’t make it to the wedding, what are you doing here?” His younger brother was so angry he looked at his other brother and asked, “Are you not leaving?” His brother shook his head; he didn’t want to cut ties with his elder brother. He was still receiving company dividends every year. In the end, Sylvia’s father decided not to leave. Rebecca looked at Victoria and said, “I was waiting for your call to ask me to be your maid of honor but you never asked. Who is your maid of honor?” Victoria told her that her maid of honor was Jewel Paul, her cousin. Rebecca was upset when she heard that Victoria had chosen an outsider to be her maid of honor. She regretted coming to Victoria’s wedding.
