Chapter 56 Resignation

• After a month, Mark went back to work, and he tended his resignation. Mr Johnson was sad to lose him, but he knew that Mark had joined the Johnson Group because he didn’t have the capital to start his own company. According to his employment contract, he was supposed to serve a month’s notice, and he finished all the work that he had already started. Mr Johnson advertised his fashion designer post. His replacement was appointed while he was still serving a notice. He performed the handover procedure to the new fashion designer. On the last day, Mr Johnson asked him to sign a five-year restraint of trade. He gladly signed it. Mr Johnson smiled at him and asked, “What are you going to do during five years?” Mark told him that he would go to the Anthony Group to assist his father. The office arranged a farewell party for him. He got lots of gifts, he wished everyone well and left the company.
• When he arrived home, his wife was in the living room watching television. She was four months pregnant when she started showing. Her husband walked to her and took her in his arms and kissed her. “My beautiful wife, how was your day?” Victoria flashed him a beautiful smile and replied, “It was good, I tried not to sleep because tomorrow I’m going back to work.” Mark told her that his dad arranged two bodyguards for her. Victoria was happy to hear that. Auntie Angel informed them that dinner was ready. Mark walked to his bedroom to change his suit into casual clothes; he washed his hands and headed down to the dining room. Victoria’s appetite was back, she ate a lot. Her husband was encouraging her to eat more, and she didn’t stand on ceremony. She liked seafood the most.
• After dinner, they walked to their bedroom, they took a shower together. Mark helped her with her pajamas. Mark kissed his wife in his arms and fell asleep. Early in the morning, he kissed his wife and went to the bathroom to take a cold shower. He went to his closet and chose a black suit. Then he woke up his wife, “Sweetheart, are you ready to go to work today?” Victoria was fast asleep, she forgot about work, “Baby, I want to sleep for five minutes, I’m sleepy.” Mark let her be, he went to her closet and chose the dress for her, and then he walked to the bathroom to fill the bathtub for her. He sat on the edge of the bed and waited for her to wake up. He decided to go to the dining room to eat breakfast. He finished eating and headed back to their bedroom. His wife was in a deep sleep. Mark called his father-in-law and told him that Victoria was still sleeping, and he wasn’t sure if she would come to work today. He changed his clothes and joined his wife in bed. She nestled in her husband’s arms and slept peacefully. She woke up at 10 am. She was surprised to see her husband next to her. He told her that he was going to report for duty at the Anthony Group today. Her husband opened his eyes and looked at his wife, “my beautiful wife, you are finally awake?” Victoria kissed her husband and replied, “I’m so tired, why are you here, are you not supposed to report for duty at Anthony Group today?” Her husband kissed her back, “I was waiting for you to wake up, and you said you wanted to sleep for five minutes.” His wife was embarrassed; she slept more than three hours. Victoria was very hungry, she quickly took a quick shower, her husband helped her to dress up and they headed down to the dining room to eat. Mark accompanied his wife while she was eating.
