Chapter 188 Their Hearts Melted

• It was 4 am when they left the hospital. Mr Johnson smiled at Miss Abigail and said, “our godsons are so beautiful.” Miss Abigail smiled back at him and replied, “they gave us a scare, but they are the cutest babies I have ever seen. I am glad to be part of their journey.” Mr Johnson’s heart skipped a beat when he saw her smiling. He had fallen in love with Miss Abigail. He smiled and said, “did you drive yourself here?” Miss Abigail told him that she had taken a cab, then Mr Johnson told her that he would drop her at home. He opened the passenger door and helped her to get into the car. He went to the driver’s seat and fastened the seatbelt for her. Miss Abigail thanked him and gave him the directions to her house. Mr Johnson looked at her and asked, “are you married?” Miss Abigail smiled and replied, “I am not married yet.” Mr Johnson smiled broadly but he didn’t utter a word. He didn’t want to open the door while the other door wasn’t closed. Also, he didn’t want Miss Abigail to be labelled as a homewrecker. In his heart he knew that his marriage had run its course and he was no longer willing to save it. He dropped Miss Abigail and went home.
• He went to his bedroom and started packing his clothes in a bag. When his wife saw him packing she was confused and asked, “Hubby, what are you doing?” Mr Johnson looked at her for a long time and replied, “I am moving out. I tried to stay in this marriage, but I feel like I am living with a stranger. My lawyer will contact you in due course. I will leave this mansion to you.” Mrs Johnson cried sorrowfully and said, “Please give me a second chance, my husband. I have learnt from my mistakes. You promised to go with me for counselling.” Mr Johnson looked at her and replied, “it’s too late my love.” Then he took his bags, his wife tried to block him and snatched his bags. Mr Johnson’s face darkened and said, “Move.” Then he left his mansion with a heavy heart. He never thought that there would come a time when he would divorce his wife. He went to His Glory hotel and booked a room. He called his son, James, and told him that he had left his home. James was not surprised to hear his father’s words and replied, “congratulations Dad for being single. May you meet a gentle soul who will love you unconditionally. Mom deserves it.” His father told him about Victoria’s difficult labor. He told him that Victoria fought so hard not to lose the babies. James was reminded of Serene killing his son because of company shares. James’ heart became bitter. Victoria’s twins were supposed to belong to the Johnson family. The tears filled his eyes, he lost the best thing of his life. He sighed, then they hung up.
• At that moment, James received a call from his mother. He decided to answer the phone and asked, “what is the matter?” His mother was crying and replied, “your father left me.” James asked, “this is my problem because?” His mother was taken aback and replied, “Son, please speak to your father on my behalf.” James laughed out loud and replied, “you want to destroy my father’s life like you destroyed mine? In all honesty, I am glad that my father left you before you corrupted him. My father is a gentle soul. You don’t deserve him. If you had supported my father, Victoria’s babies would be mine. Also, my son will be alive today. You are such an evil human being. I am ashamed to call you my mother.” Then he dropped the phone. His mother was dumbfounded. She had lost everything. The mansion without her family was meaningless. She sat down on the floor and cried bitterly.
