Chapter 35 You Owe Us

  • Timothy went to his son’s mansion; he parked his car outside the gate and called him. “Son, do you mind if I visit you and my daughter in love?” Mark was in the living room with his wife watching the news. Mark looked at his wife, Victoria nodded her head. “You are welcome to visit us anytime dad.” His father indicated that he was outside the gate. Mark opened the gate for his father. He took his father’s bag and walked to the house; Victoria was standing by the door waiting to welcome her father-in-law. Her father-in-law beamed when he saw her, he kissed her in both cheeks. Victoria held his arm, and they sat in the living room. Auntie Angel informed them that dinner was ready. They went to the dining room to eat. The atmosphere was harmonious, they were chatting and laughing.
  • After dinner, Mark’s father told them that he had a fight with his wife because of Jonathan. “I forced Jonathan to work in the company because I wanted him to be independent, but he wasn’t interested to learn, he didn’t take me seriously at all, he was playing games in the company computer during working hours. He was setting a bad example to my staff members. I even called a board meeting to introduce him, but he never showed up. I was so embarrassed. Grace is accusing me of being biased and she said that she would never forgive me for making Jonathan unhappy.” Mark was shocked to hear what his father was saying. “What are you going to do, dad?” His father sighed and said, “I told Grace to tell him that he doesn’t have to go to work anymore, and I will buy the apartment for him.” Victoria prepared guest bedroom for her father-in-law.
  • The following day, Victoria woke up early. She wanted to prepare breakfast for her family. She went to the bathroom and took a shower; she wore casual clothes and went to the kitchen. Mark was fast asleep; she didn’t wake him up. She prepared an English breakfast. Instead of bread, she baked croissants. Mark went into the kitchen and hugged his wife from behind, “good morning beautiful, are you well?” asked her husband kissing her neck. Victoria was distracted, she tried to dodge but her husband turned her around and kissed her on the lips. Victoria wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him back. “Baby, let me finish cooking first, then you can do anything you like to me.” Her husband smiled mischievously, “you said anything, really?” Victoria wanted to chase him out of the kitchen, “yes, anything.” Mark left the kitchen smiling. Auntie Angel helped Victoria to carry food to the dining room. Her father-in-law was chatting with his son in the living room. Victoria went to him and said, “good morning dad, did you sleep well? Her father-in-law beamed and replied, “good morning my daughter, I slept like a log.” She invited them to eat.
