Chapter 161 I'm So Ashamed To Be Called Your Wife

• Mr Johnson went to his study room and sat on the sofa in the dark in deep thought. He was thinking about his marriage, what happened to his wife? She was no longer the woman he fell in love with. It was clear in his mind that his wife didn’t care about their marriage. Why was he still doing in this marriage? He felt a suffocating pain in his chest when he thought about the way his wife treated him. When he married his wife he never thought that one day they would separate because he loved her dearly. He thought that nothing would separate them, but he was mistaken. His heart sank he was really disappointed on his wife.
• Butler Ed was about to leave he had car keys on his hand when James arrived with baby gifts, he asked Butler Ed to move the gifts to the guest room. The nursery and the playroom had not been prepared yet. Hence the gifts were placed in the guest room. Butler Ed told James that he was on his way to fetch Mrs Johnson, but James told him that he would fetch them himself. He wanted to teach them a lesson, did they want someone to fetch them after they embarrassed the family? They are dreaming. No one would fetch them. Then James went to the study to look for his father. He knocked at the door but there was no response then he opened the door. The study room’s lights were off, he called his father then he switched on the light.
• His father was sitting on the sofa in a daze, he walked to him and said, “I’m so disappointed Dad, Serene embarrassed the whole family. I curse the day I met her. Since she joined this family there was no peace. After you left all the guests followed you even Serene’s friends.” His father replied with sadness in his eyes, “I was expecting Serene to behave the way she did because she is holding a grudge against me. What made me sad was when your mother failed to protect me as her husband. She made my family a laughingstock. Son, I don’t think I will continue with this marriage, your mother is taking me for granted. I’m going to file for a divorce.” James was not surprised when he heard his father’s words and said, “I don’t blame you Dad, Mom has changed. I think she is bewitched. Dad, please give her one more chance I believe she saw what happened and I’m sure that she will reprimand Serene. She will apologize to you Dad.” His father laughed and said, “I will listen to you Son and give her one last chance. However, if she speaks to me out of turn I will divorce her. Enough is enough I’m not happy in my own house.” James thanked his father and told him that he was going to see Theodore Cole for some advice. His father looked at him with questioning eyes. James replied, “Dad, I’m going to ask Mr Cole to draft the divorce papers for me, but I will wait for Serene to give birth then I will serve her with divorce papers. I had enough I can’t tolerate her anymore. If Mom fights for her I will move out.” His father looked at his son frowning and said, “Son, don’t be impulsive please think about your son. Maybe Serene will change after giving birth, give her some time. Do you want your son to be raised by a stepmother?” James said, “I think it’s better for my son to be raised by a stranger, Serene doesn’t deserve to raise him. I left Mom and Serene at the hotel to reflect. Dad, please don’t fetch them.” James took all the car keys with him and left.
