Chapter 143 To Err Is Human

• Mr Fish looked at his son in law and said, “Son, I was wrong, but to err is human, to forgive is divine.” Patrick smiled at his father in law and replied, “all is forgiven Dad. Victoria missed you so much.” Mrs Fish was so happy to hear her son-in-law’s words. She looked at him and said, “I was so sad when I saw Victoria and her husband on The Ark TV, you didn’t even invite us to our granddaughter’s wedding.” Patrick smiled and replied, “I’m sorry for not inviting you to her engagement banquet. We haven’t had a big wedding yet because she discovered that she was pregnant, then we postponed the wedding. However, they registered their marriage eight months ago.” His mother in law was smiling brightly at her son-in-law and asked, “is her husband a good man? Is he coming from a good background?” Patrick nodded his head and said, “the Anthony family is treating her as a treasure. My son-in-law, Mark, is a good man, he loves her so dearly. The Anthony family is very wealthy Mom.” Olga was nodding her head as well, her nephew-in-law was a good man indeed.
• At that moment, the Housekeeper informed them that lunch was ready. They walked to the dining room to eat. There was sumptuous food on the table, it was mouth-watering. Olga sat between her parents; she was reminded of their love for her when she was young. Her mother put some food on her plate, then she encouraged her to eat more. She smiled sweetly at her mother, then she started eating. The atmosphere was harmonious. They were chatting and laughing. Mrs Fish looked at Patrick and said, “Son, it’s been a while since you visited us, do you mind spending the night with us?” Patrick smiled back at his mother-in-law and replied, “I’m sorry Mom I have to go back to Johannesburg today. We are preparing for Victoria’s baby shower, so we are meeting the Interior designer for the nursery and the playroom tomorrow. Why don’t you come to the baby shower so that you will be able to meet the Anthony family?” His mother-in-law became excited. She looked at her husband and said, “I will come with your father in law, I’m looking forward to seeing my grandson in law.” Mr Fish nodded his head. He was looking forward to seeing his granddaughter again.
• Mr Fish smiled at his daughter and said, “Olga, I’m looking forward to meeting your husband. Were your in-laws good to you? Do you have any children?” Olga looked at her father with sadness in her eyes and replied, “My husband, Simon Reed, passed away six months ago. We have a daughter, Jewel. She moved to London with her husband. They have two beautiful daughters. My father-in-law is a good man, he took care of us when we moved to Durban.” Her parents were shocked when they heard that their son-in-law passed away before they met him. Her mother hugged her and said, “I’m sad that I didn’t have a chance to meet my son in law but I’m glad that your in-laws were good to you.” Olga replied, “My late husband didn’t have a good relationship with my mother in law, I met her for the first time during my late husband’s funeral.” Her mother patted her shoulder and said, “I’m sorry to hear that my lovely daughter, I’m so happy to hear that I have great granddaughters. I’m looking forward to meeting my granddaughter Jewel and her family.” Mr Fish was grinning from ear to ear when he heard that he had great granddaughters. The Lord has done great things for his family. He was overwhelmed with gratitude.
