Chapter 195 Give Me An Offer

  • James was sitting in his living room thinking about his painful past. Tears were streaming down his face. He didn’t wipe them, his heart was torn apart. What would his life be if he stayed married to Victoria? When he was visiting his father in the hotel, his father showed him Victoria’s twins’ photos. They were supposed to be his but they belonged to someone else. He loved Serene wholeheartedly, but what did he have in the end? She killed their son because of greed. He never thought that a day could pass without talking to his beloved mother. His mother made it difficult for him to remarry Victoria because she was cruel to her. What had he done on this earth to deserve so much pain? He felt suffocated, he couldn’t breathe. He decided to go out of his apartment to get fresh air. He took his car keys and walked to the door.
  • At that moment, someone knocked on the door. He wiped his tears, and then he opened the door. He was surprised to see his mother standing in front of him. She lost a lot of weight and she looked haggard. His mother smiled and said, “Son, do you mind if I come in?” James didn’t utter a word; he just stood aside to allow his mother to come in. James closed the door and sat on the sofa. When his mother saw pain in her son’s eyes, tears streamed down her face. She was regretful, but it was too late. She caused pain in her family. She looked at James and said, “My dearest son, I am so sorry for any pain I caused you. I regret not supporting your father and I knew deep down in my heart that if I supported your father you would be happily married to Victoria. I blame myself for hating Victoria and for forcing you to marry Serene even though I knew that she didn’t love you. Also, I apologize for the decision I made which caused Serene to implement her plan successfully. Serene toyed with my marriage, but it was not my intention to kill my grandson. Please find in your heart to forgive me, my dearest son. I tried to call your father several times but I couldn’t get through. I am not sure if he blacklisted my number or if I called him at the wrong time. Where is he staying at the moment?” James looked at his mother and replied, “Mom, I forgive you. I understand that I am to blame for neglecting Victoria when we were married. However, the parent’s role is to guide a child when he is making a mistake. If you sat me down and told me about Victoria’s good qualities I would have changed my mind. Mom, you were the person whom I trusted the most and I always listened to you. I feel that the love you showed me you were pretending. You were pretending in order to use me should the opportunity avail. Now I know how much Dad loves me. I don’t know if I will ever trust you again. How can you hate someone who has never hurt you before? Victoria was a victim as well as her mother-in-law. You were supposed to embrace her. It is clear to me why you embrace the murderer, because you are both heartless and vicious. Please leave and don’t ever bother me again.” Then he walked to the door and opened it wide. His mother wiped her tears and said, “Thank you my dearest son, for your forgiveness much appreciated. Please ask your father to come back home.” Then she left with a heavy heart. James walked to his bedroom to take a shower to prepare for work. After an hour, he left his apartment and went to work.
  • Mr Johnson had been staying at His Glory hotel for the past five months. The culinary skills of His Glory hotel’s Chefs were awesome. His Presidential Suite was always clean. However, he missed a home environment badly. He decided to look for a house. He quickly contacted the real estate agent, Mr Briggs. Fortunately, Mr Briggs had a mansion on sale. He indicated that the owner was immigrating to Australia since most of his friends had moved to Australia and was selling the fully furnished mansion. Mr Johnson said, “Please take me this evening to view the house.” Mr Biggs was over the moon. Should he sell the mansion, he would get a massive commission. Mr Johnson walked to his son’s office and asked him to accompany him to see the house. James was so touched when his father asked him for his help. James looked at his father and said, “Dad, Mom came to my apartment yesterday. She told me that she regrets everything she did and asked for forgiveness. I have forgiven her, Dad. However, I am not sure if she was sincere because as soon as I forgave her, Mom asked me where you were staying. She said she tried to get hold of you so many times to no avail.” His father hugged him and said, “You did great, Son. Holding grudges is not good for your health. I blacklisted your mother because I want to have a fresh start. Your mother hurt me deeply.” Then they left together to meet Mr Briggs.
