Chapter 27 Celebration

• Timothy Anthony left his office around 2 pm. He decided to go to the Lewis Group. When he arrived, he called Patrick and told him that he was at reception. Patrick was surprised, he went to fetch him. They greeted each other; Patrick took him to his office and sat on the sofa. Patrick asked his assistant, George Gale, to prepare tea for them. After a few minutes, he came back with two cups of tea on a tray. Patrick told George to take the rest of the day. George was happy, he thanked Mr Lewis and left. Patrick smiled at Timothy, “What a nice surprise, I didn’t expect to see you this early. Is your family coming?” Timothy looked at him with sad eyes, “My wife and my son told me that they have other commitments.”
• Victoria had an appointment with her father to discuss the progress of the project; she was surprised to see her father-in-law in her father’s office. “Good day dad, I didn’t know that you were here,” said Victoria smiling. Her father-in-law beamed at her, “I was not concentrating on my work, I was distracted because I was happy, I decided to visit your father.” Victoria told her father that she would discuss the progress of the project tomorrow. Her father looked at his daughter with loving eyes, “I have the board meeting tomorrow morning to discuss the project, tell me briefly.” Victoria nodded her head, she started giving feedback. Her father-in-law was listening as well. He was impressed when he heard her feedback. She was precise, smart, and eloquent. He clapped his hands and said, “Well done my daughter in love, wow can I steal you from your father and work for the Anthony Group?” Her father laughed and told him that Victoria was his successor. He was not allowed to steal her.
• Timothy looked at Patrick and said, “I’m in a dilemma. I forced my son Jonathan to join the company. I wanted him to learn the basics as my Assistant. He told me that he wanted a director position. I forgot that the Marketing director is retiring at the end of this week, and then he was appointed in that position. He started last week Thursday, he refused to attend meetings, and he is busy playing cards and organizing his friends’ parties during working hours. He is not interested in learning. The Deputy Director lodged a grievance citing unfair labor practice; I would have done the same if I had been in his shoes. He requested a month's leave and to be transferred to the Planning department. I have a headache; I don’t know what to do.” Patrick was shocked, “I’m sorry to hear that, I think you were supposed to force him to be your Assistant. The Marketing department is not a child’s play. Do you think he will cope?” Timothy shook his head, “he is not capable of leading that department.” Patrick looked at him, “shout if you need help.” Timothy was glad that his daughter in love was smart and capable. At 5 pm they left the office and went to His Glory hotel.
