Chapter 41 Assault Charges

  • Timothy went straight to his wife and slapped her twice and said, “Why did you beat up my daughter in love?” Grace was astonished; it was the first time her husband laid his hands on her. “You hit me,” said his wife crying. Her husband looked at her annoyed, “I asked you a question. Why did you beat up my daughter in love?” His wife was rubbing her burning cheeks, “your precious divorcee is the cause you are divorcing me.” Timothy was stunned; he took his phone and called the police. He went to Patrick and said, “I’m so sorry that my wife caused a commotion in your company. She’ll pay for what she’s done today.” Patrick patted Timothy on his shoulder, “it is not your fault, what are you going to do?” Timothy looked at Patrick, “I want her to be arrested and I will surely divorce her.” Timothy turned to his son Jonathan, “thank you son for being here, it was a wise move for your mother to come to Victoria, since she is my weakness. If she had begged Victoria to ask me to forgive her, I would have done it in a bit. Yesterday, I told your mother that I was divorcing her because I was angry. When I cooled off, I even forgot about it. I will surely divorce her now.” Jonathan was speechless and heartbroken to find that the girl he loved was his sister-in-law.
  • At that moment, the police came. Timothy told them that his wife beat up his daughter in love, so he was pressing charges of assault against her. The police went to Grace to handcuff her. She struggled, and pointed her finger to her husband, “Please arrest my husband as well, and he assaulted me. Look at my face.” The police asked Mr Anthony and Mr Lewis to follow them to the police station for the statement. The police left with Grace in the police van. Jonathan decided to go to the hospital to see Victoria.
  • On the way to the hospital, Victoria told her husband that she didn’t want to go to the hospital. Mark looked at his wife dotingly, “My beautiful wife, please let’s go and do a checkup, what if you have internal injuries?” Victoria nodded her head; Mark called Dr Cain and told him that he was coming with his wife. When they arrived, Dr Cain was waiting for them. Dr Cain treated Victoria’s injuries. They were superficial wounds. He gave her an ointment that would relieve pain in her face. Then they left the hospital, they met Jonathan in the lifts. “Hello Brother and Sister-in-law.” Victoria smiled at him, “Hello brother-in-law.” Mark nodded his head and shook Jonathan’s hand. It was the first time Jonathan and Mark met. “I’m sorry for what my mother did to you.” Victoria smiled and said, “it’s not your fault, where is Auntie Grace?” Jonathan told them that his father called the police, and his mother was arrested. They were speechless, then they went home. Jonathan decided to go to the police station to see his mother. When he saw her, he became very angry, “Mom, you told me that you are going to my dad’s office to apologize to him, why did you go to Lewis Group to attack my sister-in-law?” His mother sneered, “Since when is Victoria your sister-in-law? I wanted to teach her a lesson; your father abandoned us because of her.” Jonathan looked at his mother and shook his head, “Dad didn’t abandon us, but you chased him away, now you are blaming Victoria for your own doing? Remember the girl that I fell in love with at the Anthony Group? It was Victoria. I didn’t know that she was married to my brother. I will never forgive you for beating her up and I will not bail you out.” Then he left and went home. His mother cried; she was so sad, but she was not remorseful. Since she was allowed to make one call, she decided to call her best friend Bongiwe.
