Chapter 208 She Is Tired Of Being A Cleaner

• When Mr Gates was busy with his daughter, Abigail, the reporters were interviewing her stepmother, Belinda Gates. Ben, the reporter, was part of them. He approached Mrs Gates with his microphone and asked, “Mrs Gates, you indicated that you arrived in Johannesburg yesterday to see your daughter. Why did you spend the night at the Johnson residence but not with your daughter?” Mrs Gates replied, “What do you think? If it was not for Mrs Johnson who fetched us from Limpopo, we wouldn’t know anything about that shameless daughter. Mrs Johnson told us that Abigail was having an affair with her husband, Mr Johnson. My husband and I are so embarrassed. We didn’t raise her to be a mistress.” Ben, the reporter asked, “Mrs Gates, did you ask your daughter if what Mrs Johnson told you was the truth?” Mrs Gates became upset and replied, “Why would Mrs Johnson lie to us? She snatched Mr Johnson away because he was rich. I believe she is tired of being a cleaner.” Ben, the reporter looked at Mrs Gates with mocking eyes and asked, “Do you think Mr Johnson is richer than your daughter? Who told you that Abigail was a cleaner?” Mrs Gates laughed out loud and replied, “Young man, since when is the cleaner richer than the CEO of the company? She coveted Mr Johnson because of his wealth. I don’t know where she got the confidence from. Abigail ran away from home when she was sixteen years old. Since she hadn’t finished her high school education, which position can she occupy in the company besides being a cleaner?” Ben, the reporter, shook his head and asked, “Where is your husband?” Mrs Gates told him proudly that her husband went to the office to teach their daughter a lesson.
• When Mr Gates saw the reporters surrounding his wife, he quickened his steps and joined his wife. Ben, the reporter, approached him and said, “Mr Gates, do you mind if I ask you a few questions?” He nodded his head. Ben, the reporter asked, “did you manage to see your daughter? What did she say about her affair with Mr Johnson?” Mr Gates became so upset and replied, “When the receptionist told me that they don’t have Abigail Gates I thought she was hiding her but she was telling the truth. My daughter changed her last name to her mother’s maiden name. My heart was crushed, I fell suffocated. She ignored me and she refused to recognize me as her father. She didn’t deny that she was indeed a mistress and she refused to let Mr Johnson go. Also, I found out that she was not a cleaner but the CEO of this company. As a daughter, it is her obligation to support me, but I have never received even a cent from her. She is so shameless. From today onwards, I cut all my ties with her. I don’t have a daughter like her. I am so glad that her mother is no longer with us. She is so cheap.” Mrs Gates was shocked to hear that Abigail was the company CEO. Where did she get the funds to start the company from? She felt suffocated. She couldn’t breathe. Ben, the reporter, thanked Mr Gates for his cooperation and left. He sent the recording to Mr Anthony then he uploaded the recording to the social media. He rushed to his office to publish the news. The Johnson Group and the Good News Group’s stock prices began to fall.
• Abigail took her phone and dialed her husband’s number. It was quickly connected; Emmanuel smiled when he saw the caller ID and said jokingly, “Hello my heartbeat, do you miss me already?” Abigail cried sorrowfully. Emmanuel panicked and asked, “Sweetheart, what happened?” Abigail didn’t utter a word. Emmanuel was in his company’s parking lot. He quickly drove to his wife’s company. He was so scared; he thought something bad had happened to his lovely wife. When he arrived at the Good News Group, he ran to the lifts. He wished he had wings, he felt that the lift was very slow. He even forgot to lock his car. There were reporters outside the company entrance but he didn’t even notice them.
