Chapter 53 Detective Blade

• It was in the early morning when Victoria woke up. She had been in a coma for three days. She saw Mark sleeping on the chair beside her bed. He looked haggard, she touched his face, Mark woke up. He hugged and kissed his wife, and said, “I’m so glad to see you my dearest wife, how are you feeling?” He poured water in a glass and gave it to her; her throat was dry. Mark pressed the button; the doctor came to the ward. He checked Victoria and said, “You are healing nicely Victoria, the babies are saved. I will keep you for two weeks to observe your condition. I would suggest that when you are discharged you take bed rest for two months.” said Dr Cain with a smile. Mark promised to follow his instructions accordingly. Dr Cain smiled at them and left the ward.
• Victoria hugged her husband and cried, “I thought I’m going to die and never see you again.” Mark wiped his wife's tears with his kisses and hugged her tight. “I love you so much, you are my world and I thank the Lord for saving your life my beautiful wife.” He hugged and kissed his wife again, he missed his wife dearly; it was the longest three days of his life. Victoria hugged her husband back and asked, “What happened to Serene?” Mark replied, “Serene and Macy were arrested, Detective Blade was waiting for you to wake up and make your statement. I will let Detective Blade know that you are awake.”
• Mark called his father and his father-in-law to tell them that Victoria was awake. Patrick Lewis rushed to the hospital to see his daughter. He was very happy, “my sweetheart, how are you feeling now?” said her father beaming. Victoria smiled at her father, “I’m much better daddy, sorry to make you worried.” Patrick Lewis kissed her on the forehead; he was scared to hug her since she had broken ribs. When Mark called his father, he was in a meeting, he told the managers that the meeting was adjourned and rushed to the hospital. He kissed his daughter in love on both cheeks, “I’m so glad that you are awake, how are you feeling?” Victoria smiled at her father-in-law and said, “thank you dad for saving my life. I’m so grateful. I’m much better now.” Her father-in-law told them that he went to the Mall to buy Victoria a gift. He thanked the Lord for being in the right place at the right time.
