Chapter 42 Please Drop The Charges

• Mark was sitting on their bed looking at his sleeping wife, her beautiful face was swollen, and his face became dark. Who gave his stepmother the confidence to bully his precious wife? He would take revenge on his dearest wife; he was just waiting to see how his father would resolve this matter. His wife was not a punching bag. His life was empty before he met his lovely wife. Now he was complete. His wife was his life; he loved her with his soul. He learnt how to smile. He kissed his wife and headed down to the living room.
• When he arrived in the living room, he saw his father and his father-in-law talking. When they saw him, they stopped talking and looked at him, “how is my daughter in love?” Mark replied, “She is sleeping. Dr Cain told us that it was superficial wounds, and he gave us ointment to relieve the pain.” His father looked at his son with sadness, “I’m sorry, son, for bringing trouble into your house, please forgive me. I decided to divorce your Auntie as soon as she is released from police custody. Nobody has the right to bully my daughter in love. I will not spare her. I didn’t know that Grace was so heartless.” Mark was satisfied, “thank you dad. I hope my wife will heal well since we are going to be engaged on Saturday.” His father-in-law said, “She will be fine, I hope there will no scars in her heart.” His father’s heart sank when he heard Patrick’s words. He would never forgive himself for bringing trouble to his son’s life. “I think Grace did this on purpose to stop your engagement banquet because she was not invited, she couldn’t stand to see me happy.”
• “I’m going out quickly to see Jonathan. I want to explain to him the reasons I’m divorcing his mother.” said Timothy, and left the house. He called Jonathan, “where are you? I need to talk to you.” Jonathan told his father that he was at home. His father drove his car to the Anthony mansion. Jonathan was waiting for his dad in the living room. He was still angry with his mother. “Hello, my son, how are you doing?” Jonathan looked at his dad, “Hello Dad, I’m well thanx, how are you?” His father told him that he was well, but he was shaken by his wife’s behavior. “How is my sister-in-law, Dad?” His father replied, “She still the same, hoping that she will recover soon because it is their engagement banquet on Saturday. I think your mother did this on purpose to stop the engagement banquet. I fail to understand why she beat Victoria.” Jonathan looked at his father in dismay, “when you called me to fetch Mom at Lewis Group, I thought you made a mistake. You meant Johnson Group, since my brother is working there, I didn’t see it coming. I’m so ashamed dad. I was not happy that you reconciled with my brother, but your love for me never changed. I would like to have a relationship with my brother. My heart nearly stopped when I saw my sister-in-law. I fell in love with her at first sight. I met her at Anthony Group when I was rushing to see my friends. She smiled brightly at me. I didn’t know that she recognized me as her brother-in-law. That day, I told my friends that I would turn over a new life for her. I wanted to go back to work on Monday and be serious with my job, but my mother interfered in my life. I’ve lost everything. If you want to divorce her, go ahead.” His father was shocked. Jonathan was closer to his mother than to him. He smiled at his son, “did you fall in love with Victoria? She is an amazing girl, your brother is so lucky to have her, even James wants her back. Unfortunately, she belongs to the Anthony family.”
