Chapter 39 She Said Yes

• Two months before Mark and Victoria’s engagement banquet, Timothy Anthony called his son to his office and said, “Son, I kept the ring that I proposed to your mother with. I want to give it to you for your proposal to Victoria.” Mark was surprised and he hugged his father and became emotional. He wished his mother was still alive to witness the marriage between him and Victoria. “Thank you, dad, the ring is so beautiful, I’m sure that Victoria will be over the moon, this ring is so special to me.” He hugged his father again.
• Mark decided to take his wife to Mauritius Resorts; he immediately booked their flights and accommodation. He called his father-in-law and said, “Dad, I want to propose to Victoria, I’m taking her to Mauritius. Can she take a week’s leave, dad? His father-in-law agreed. Mark told him that it was a surprise. He went to Mr Johnson’s office and applied for one week’s leave. After work, he went to the Lewis Group to fetch his wife. Mark held his wife in his arms, “My sweetheart, I’m so tired I need to take a vacation to rest, do you mind accompanying me?” Victoria kissed her husband, “I don’t mind, I’m not busy at work. I will apply for leave. When do you plan for us to leave? Mark smiled, “our flight will depart tomorrow morning at 8 am and it will arrive at Mauritius after four hours. We will be away for a week.” Victoria quickly called her father and applied for leave; her father agreed. Victoria packed their suitcases; she was so happy. They went to sleep very early.
• At 5 am, they left their home for OR Tambo airport. They boarded their flight at 6 am and it departed at exactly 8 am. They arrived in Mauritius after 12 pm. They took the cab from the Airport to Hilton Mauritius Resort & Spa. Victoria was excited when she saw their resort. She was stunned, it was beautiful. Their suite was huge with an excellent view. “My beautiful wife, are you tired, do you want to take a nap?” asked Mark. “I’m not tired Honey, can we go to the beach and take a walk?” said Victoria smiling. “Let’s change our clothes to casual clothes, please wear flat shoes.” They changed their clothes and leave their room. The sea breeze was blowing nicely, the beach was not crowded, mostly were couples. They sat on the sand to build sandcastles; then they walked along the beach hand in hand. “Thank you Honey for accompanying me. I don’t remember when the last time I took leave. This place is amazing.” Mark kissed his wife; he took his phone and took a photo of his wife. He asked a boy who was walking on the beach to take a photo of him and his wife. Their photos were beautiful. He posted their photos to WeChat with the caption, “In Mauritius with my bae.”
