Chapter 146 How About My Feelings?

• At the Johnson residence Mr Johnson was sitting in the living room watching Victoria’s 3D ultrasound scan. He was grinning from ear to ear when he saw the twins. His wife approached him and asked, “Hubby, what are you watching?” Her husband smiled broadly and replied, “Mark and Victoria asked me to be their children Godfather then they gave me their 3D ultrasound scan to watch.” His wife was so upset and said, “Hubby, do you think it is appropriate for you to watch Victoria’s babies in our house in front of Serene?” Her husband sneered, “your daughter in law doesn’t respect me, do I need to care about her feelings?” Whilst they were talking Serene and James joined them in the living room. Serene wanted to binge watch her favourite TV shows on DStv Catch Up. She was annoyed when she saw her father in law watching television. James approached his father and asked, “what are you watching Dad?” His father told him that he was watching Victoria’s 3D ultrasound scan. James asked his father to lend him the CD after he finished watching, his father rewind the CD from the beginning. They laughed out loud when they saw feisty Baby Tim and kind Baby Pat. Serene was so annoyed she wanted to cry.
• His mother couldn’t take it anymore and said, “Hubby, if you don’t care about your daughter in law’s feelings, how about my feelings? You are fully aware that I hate Victoria to the core, but you are watching her ultrasound CD in my house.” Her husband looked at her, but he didn’t utter a word. James looked at his mother and said, “Mom, can you blame Dad, your daughter in law refused to do a 3D ultrasound scan when Dad asked her hence we are watching Victoria’s scan. Is there something wrong with that Mom?” His mother was so upset and replied, “James Johnson, are you not supposed to protect your wife from being embarrassed by your father?” James shook his head and replied, “Mom, how can you defend someone who accused your husband of being a forger? I’m so glad that she is my wife in name only.” Serene was so embarrassed by James’ words tears brimmed in her eyes. Her mother in law’s face changed when James reminded her about the forgery of the late Mr Logan’s letter and said, “James, please help me to look for that letter, I need to prove your father’s innocence . Also, please contact Dr Cain to arrange a 3D ultrasound scan for your wife.” James looked confused and replied, “Mom, are you forcing Serene to go for 3D ultrasound scan even though she is not interested?” Mr Johnson smiled at his wife and said, “Love, people would say we are bullying Serene if we forced her to do an ultrasound scan. Serene is thirty six weeks pregnant soon you will see you grandson.” Mrs Johnson ignored her husband and looked at his son, “James, do as I say sooner the better.” James took his phone and dialed Dr Cain’s phone number, but it went straight to voicemail. He decided to send him a text message indicating that he would like to book a 3D ultrasound scan. “Mom, I think Dr Cain is busy delivering cute buns, he will call me back when he is free.”
• During that time Dr Cain was at His Glory Hotel celebrating his grandson’s baby dedication. He took leave to attend this ceremony. To avoid any destructions, he switched off his phone because he wanted to enjoy his grandson. Mr Timothy Anthony gave him the venue and food as a gift. He told him in passing he didn’t expected anything from him. He was surprised when he received a call from him asking him to call His Glory Hotel’s manager. The manager told him that Mr Anthony arranged for the baby dedication celebration to take place at the hotel. He asked him to tell him the number of the Guests, type of food and time. He couldn’t believe his ears he was over the moon. He quickly called Mr Anthony and thanked him, he was moved. It was not cheap to have an event at His Glory Hotel, but Mr Anthony allowed him to celebrate his grandson’s baby dedication with his family and friends in style. He was overwhelmed with gratefulness.
