Chapter 119 We Are In A Borrowed Time

  • At the Anthony residence, Zion White was sitting in the living room with Tamara and Theodore laughing. Jonathan was absent-minded thinking about his mother, who wasn’t doing well in prison. Uncle Timothy was surprised when he saw Zion White in his house, since he was a prominent figure in the city. He thought Tamara was going to introduce a random person to shut him from nagging. Zion White was a capable young man, and he was compatible with his daughter. His Grandmother prepared health supplements for Mr Timothy as a gift; Uncle Timothy was overjoyed. During lunch, the atmosphere was harmonious. After lunch, Uncle Timothy asked Zion to join him in the study room. “Tamara told me that initially you wanted to get married when you were thirty years old, but you changed your mind because of your Grandmother’s health, do you think you are ready to settle down?” Zion smiled and replied, “Dad, I love your daughter with all my heart, it was selfish of me to ask her to wait for me. I think I was scared to commit because my parents divorced when I was young. I had a wake-up call when my Grandmother was diagnosed with a heart condition. I was reminded that we are living on borrowed time, and nothing is guaranteed on this earth. I want to spend the rest of my life with Tamara as my wife, Dad.” Uncle Timothy was grinning from ear to ear, “I give you my blessing Son.” Zion was over the moon and said, “thank you Dad for giving us your blessing. I will take Tamara to my Grandmother's tomorrow; she will be overjoyed.”
  • “I heard that my ex-wife was beaten badly by her prison cell inmate. Is it true?” asked Uncle Timothy. Zion smiled and replied, “I transferred Auntie Grace to Beauty’s prison cell because I was very angry and they also shared the same behavior. Beauty killed all the members of her family and Auntie Grace tried to kill my gorgeous sister-in-law and the babies. I felt that they both have a black heart. Beauty is ruthless. I wanted to teach her a lesson. Tamara cried so much when the babies’ heart rate was low, and I vowed that I would take revenge for her. Who gave her confidence to mess with my wife’s family?” Uncle Timothy looked at him smiling. He was impressed, “I think my daughter chose well, you are a good man. I will never let Grace off; I hope Beauty stabs her and gives her a taste of her medicine. Don’t move her to a single cell. Tamara told me that Jonathan would ask me to speak to the higher ups for his mother. I will never agree to that, I nearly lost my daughter in love and my grandchildren because of her. I will never forgive her.” Zion was glad to hear his father-in-law’s words. Then they headed down to the living room.
  • Tamara was sitting in the living room with Theodore and Jonathan chatting. When he saw her uncle and Zion laughing, she became happy. Uncle Timothy hugged Tamara and said, “You chose well, my Sweetheart.” Tamara was touched and smiled brightly at her uncle. She looked at Zion smiling. Zion smiled back at her. When Jonathan heard that Zion was the Pretoria Correctional Centre Area Commissioner, he was overjoyed. He wanted to ask his father to plead for his mother to be moved to a single cell, but when he arrived home yesterday he was not in a right state of mind. He went straight to his bedroom to sleep; he was emotionally drained. He planned to ask his father that morning, but Tamara was chatting with his father, so he decided to ask him later. Since Zion was the Area Commissioner, he decided to ask him for help and said, “Brother-in-law, sorry to trouble you, I visited my mother in prison yesterday. She was beaten up by her prison cell inmate. Is it possible to move her to a single cell?” Zion smiled and replied, “Brother-in-law, what Auntie Grace did was unspeakable, she was heartless. She showed my gorgeous sister-in-law and the babies no mercy. Why should I show mercy to her? I will never move her to a single cell. She deserves every beating from her inmate.” Jonathan was rendered speechless, his father echoed Zion’s words and said, “I fully support my son.-law, I will never forgive your mother for what she has done to my daughter in love and my grandchildren. She would reap what she sow.” Jonathan looked at his father with sadness in his eyes, “Dad, they will kill my mother in that prison. Please reconsider.” His father sneered, “Why don’t you ask your sister-in-law to move your mother to a single cell?” Jonathan was rendered speechless, his sister-in-law would never forgive his mother.
