Chapter 45 Engagement Banquet

• Victoria woke up and tried to hold her husband, but she remembered that she was at the Lewis mansion. She called her husband, “Good morning my handsome husband, did you sleep well?” Mark told her that he hadn’t slept at all, he was missing someone. Victoria giggled and told him that she fell asleep after playing his music video clip several times. Then she hung up, she walked to the bathroom and soaked herself in the bathtub. She walked to her closet and wore casual clothes. She headed down to the living room. Her father was reading a newspaper, his eyes lit up when he saw his daughter, “Good morning my beautiful daughter, did you sleep well? Victoria hugged her father and replied, “Good morning dad, I slept well thank you.” She flashed her father with a big smile, “the weather is beautiful, I can’t wait to see my husband.” Her father laughed; they went to the dining room to eat breakfast. Her relatives were still sleeping.
• She didn’t want to see her Aunt and her cousins, so she went back to her room to wait for her make-up artist. She told her make-up artist to come to her house at 10:00 am. Someone knocked at her door, she told the person to enter. Auntie Rebecca came into her room and sat on the chair, “Good morning my niece, I hope you slept well.” Victoria told her that she slept well. Auntie Rebecca smiled and said, “Your boyfriend is handsome. Where did you meet?” Victoria looked at her Auntie annoyed, “Auntie, Mark is not my boyfriend, he is my husband.” Auntie Rebecca was shocked, “are you married already? Does he know that you are a divorcee?” Victoria knew that her Auntie didn’t have good intentions about coming into her room. She replied, “Auntie, I’m not a divorcee, I stayed in James’s apartment for two years while he was staying with his girlfriend. My husband knew about the contractual marriage, and he waited for me.” Auntie Rebecca didn’t know what to say because she wanted to use this information to sow a discord between Victoria and her boyfriend. She was so disappointed and left Victoria’s room.
• At 9:50 her make-up artist, Tina arrived; Victoria took her to her room. Tina moisturized her face, and then she used the beauty blender to apply foundation to create a natural look. Then she used the make-up setting spray. When she looked in the mirror, she couldn’t believe her eyes, she was gorgeous. Tina helped her to wear her dress, and then they went to the living room. When her father saw her, tears welled in his eyes. He wished that his late wife had been there. Her daughter was stunning. Tina did make-up for Auntie Rebecca and her nieces. They were stunning. Auntie Rebecca and her nieces were wearing colorful traditional attires with beads and beaded woman sandals. Butler Dave and all the helpers were invited to attend Victoria’s engagement banquet. Victoria’s father had arranged ten sunset red Mercedes Benz cars. It was Victoria’s favourite color. Butler Dave was driving the car with Mr Lewis and Victoria. “My beautiful daughter, I’m so grateful to the Lord for allowing me to see this day.” He was reminded of the day when he nearly took his life. “I’m so glad that you are here, dad, and I trust the Lord that He will bless you with many years.”
