Chapter 18 Will You Marry Me?

• They finished eating. Mark took her home. “Mark, thanks I had a great time. I enjoyed your company. The food was delicious, and I like your father,” said Victoria, blushing. “It was the best day of my life,” said Mark. Victoria hesitated, “Mark, will you marry me?” Mark was shocked but he quickly snapped back to his senses. “Yes, I will marry you.” Victoria was so happy she hugged him. “It seems like I’m dreaming, I’m so happy,” said Victoria with tears in her eyes. When Mark saw her tears, his heart ached. He kissed her tears and said, “I’m the lucky one, who knew that I would meet you when I was meeting my father, so grateful to the Lord,” said Mark sheepishly. “When do you want us to register our marriage?” asked Mark, he was hoping that Victoria would say soon. “Can we register our marriage this week or next week after you asked my father’s permission to marry me?”
• Mark was so happy and said, “I will visit my father-in-law after work to ask for your hand in marriage.” Victoria was beaming; she couldn't wait to be Mrs Anthony. They were sitting in the car kissing. Mark went out of the car and opened the door for Victoria. He wrapped his arms around Victoria’s waist and kissed her. “Goodbye my love, I will see you tomorrow when I'm visiting my father-in-law.” Victoria nodded her head and went to her house. Mark didn’t drive away. He waited until she was inside the house, then he left. When Victoria arrived home, her dad was waiting for her in the living room. “Dad, why are you still up?” asked Victoria. “I’m waiting for you; how did it go?” Victoria told her dad that it was great, and she met Mark’s father. “Dad, Mark will pay you a visit tomorrow after work to ask for my hand in marriage, please dad, don’t be hard on him.” Her father laughed and said, “How can I be hard to my son in law?” Victoria was happy when she heard those words and kissed her father.
• Then she went to her bedroom, she took a shower, dried her hair, and wore her pajamas. She was sitting on her bed in a daze. She couldn’t believe that she asked Mark Anthony to marry her. She giggled and checked her phone. There was a text message from Mark. He told her that he had arrived safely, and he missed her already. He told her that he loved her so much. Victoria said she loved him more and sent him kisses. Mark was smiling brightly when he read Victoria’s text.
