Chapter 466

• "Well that went smoothly" Amelia says quietly to me as we exit the church, a sound asleep Juni cradled in her arms. Mum got her wish; Juni is now 'cleansed' and christened and Amelia got her wish; it was done in my family's church. Poppy is her god mother and Max is her godfather, slightly awkward considering they haven't spoken to each other since their breakup but they were great. They didn't cause a scene, I was very proud of them.
• "Yeah but now comes the worst part, the family party" I whisper to Amelia as we walk down the path heading in the direction of our car. Mums hosting all of the family at hers for a 'post christening family celebration' and I couldn't be dreading it more than I already am. She's invited our whole family and it looks like everyone showed up. The only good thing about this whole thing is that all of our friends made the trip up as well, including Claudia which is a plus. It's the first time we've all been together in a really long time.
• "It won't be so bad" Amelia assures me as I open the backseat for her so she can strap Juni into her car seat.
