Chapter 244

• All of Rhode 's staff seem to enjoy greeting me as 'Miss Kendrick', or that's just what they've been told to do.
• "Nice to meet you Mac, thank you for picking us up" I quickly say as he takes hold of both of our bags and begins to lead us out of the building. The sun beats down on our backs in a heavy way as we finally get our first taste of fresh air in half a day, it seems to feel thicker here than it does back home.
• Mac leads us over to an impeccably clean black SUV where he deposits our bags into the back and then moves quickly to open up the side door for me to climb in. I thank him before I slide in to the refreshingly air conditioned space and notice something peculiar.
