Chapter 347

  • I'm sitting on a picnic blanket on a grassy knoll, our new backyard, only I'm not alone. I can see three children just in the distance, running through a set of sprinklers all dressed in white. An older boy, a younger girl and a smaller boy chase one another through the water, I can faintly hear their laughter. I look to my right and I see the girl that I love, my girl, sitting beside me. She looks towards them, a bright smile on her face as the wind softly blows her hair. I reach my hand out to caress her cheek, aching to touch her beautiful soft skin, but before my hand can make contact she turns her head towards me, the smile dropping ever so slightly.
  • "Why didn't you give me the ring Rhode ?" She asks with a pointed look. I'm flustered, I don't know how to answer her, how does she know about the ring?
  • "We could have had all of this, and now I'm dead, and you're all alone" She says coldly. I turn my head to look towards the garden, the sprinklers are gone and so are the children. I turn back to Amelia, but she's gone too.
