Chapter 397

• "Bub, cars here!" Rhode calls up to me as I unplug my phone charger from the wall beside my bed. It's the one thing I'm always anxious I'm going to forget it and I nearly did.
• "Coming" I call back down to him as I shove it into my bag and take one last look around the bedroom. We won't be back until after Sarah and Mitch's wedding, and I'm going to miss our lovely house. I've become so comfortable here these last few weeks, it's been my sanctuary. I give the room a pathetic wave goodbye before taking the stairs at a slower pace. I ended up getting a few hours sleep but not as much as I would have liked and my body is betraying me for it.
• Rhode 's waiting for me at the front door, a larger than life grin on his face. I know he's happy to be going somewhere that is slightly warmer than late January London, but that really is a big smile he has there.
