I hear people around the table 'aww' at his words, but I can't take my eyes off of him, my eyes that begin to form new tears.

Because of you I understand why people sing love songs and write poetry and tether themselves to other people. You make the world make sense in a way I never thought it would. You have the kindest soul and the warmest heart. You're so brave and selfless in ways that don't even make sense to me and you bring out a kindness in me that I thought was long forgotten. Everyday I wake up and I feel the love and support that you give me everyday, and I wouldn't trade it for anything in this whole world."

He finishes his speech by lifting up his glass and announcing to the rest of the table "to Amelia!" The rest of the crowd raises their own glasses and repeats his words back before descending into applause. I quickly stand up and wrap my arms around his shoulders and burying my face in his neck.
