• She's always worried about overstaying her welcome, even though mum and I would probably agree that we would want her to stay as long as possible.
• "She's a lot stronger than she seems. Yes, she's had it rough, but she's a very strong girl" I quickly jump to her defence. Amelia isn't some broken winged bird that needs to be nursed to health. If anything, she didn't let people take care of her at all. Always too used to looking after everyone else.
• "Oh I know sweetheart, she's a tough little thing. But sometimes when people are so strong for so long, they become really tired" Mum says quietly, I can't think of what to say. Since her dad left she's been taking care of her mum, while no one was there to look after her. And even though she's a grown woman, I think she does a lot of mothering towards her friend Poppy as well. Then there's me; she definitely took care of me, and I definitely never made things easy. I'm a difficult person, that's who I've always been.
