Chapter 433

• Rhode's been on quiet the journey with his family over the last few years. He opened up to me a bit a few months ago about what life was really like when his father was still alive. It sounded brutal and awful, but I think Rhode was relieved to get it off of his chest. I understand now why Rhode was slightly hesitant towards Peter at first, he doesn't ever want Eloise to be in that sort of situation again and her dating again made that a possibility. But Peters earned Rhode's trust and even though Rhode won't admit it, he and Peter are closer than ever.
• "I do too. She deserves to be happy, and he makes her happy. That's what matters." Rhode states, his arms tightening slightly around my shoulders. I place my hands on his arms, leaning in to his embrace.
• "I thought it was very sweet that he asked for yours and Bianca 's permission before he asked her." I add with a grin. Last Christmas, Peter took Bianca and Rhode out to lunch to ask their permission to propose to Eloise.
