Chapter 435

• The door to his office soon shuts and the world is my own for the next little while. I walk into the bedroom and pull the blinds shut, kick off my shoes and lay down on the bed hoping that soon the overwhelming need for sleep will appear and allow me to get some rest. I wait and wait and wait, and nothing. For some reason now that Rhode is busy and needs to do stuff, all I want to do is be around him and do things. I sigh and strain my ears, trying to hear if he's started to yell at anyone on the zoom call yet. Nothing yet, so I decide to text him.
• 'I'm bored. Everything okay? X' I send him the message and lay my phone down on my stomach. I pick it up now more than a minute later when it chimes with a response.
• 'Everything's fine so far. Want something to do? X' His message reads. Even the simple message of a 'x' can give me butterflies from him.
