Chapter 7 Her Imagination Ran Wild

  • Yu Yimo was a person who was as good as his word. So, early the next morning, he was already waiting downstairs in the neighborhood where Ruan Shishi was staying.
  • Pressed by Madam Liu, Ruan Shishi hurried downstairs in a white T-shirt with half a steamed bun in her mouth.
  • The car was still that luxurious Maybach.
  • Ruan Shishi walked toward the car while enduring the intense gazes of the people around her.
  • Du Yue, who was waiting aside, pulled the car door open for her. He greeted her softly, “Good morning, Madam.”
  • Ruan Shishi gave Du Yue a slightly awkward smile as she still hadn’t gotten used to the way he addressed her. Then, she turned and got into the car.
  • The instant she got into the car, her gaze was drawn to Yu Yimo, who was sitting at one side.
  • Yu Yimo was wearing a black suit on this day. He looked very ascetic, especially with the two uppermost buttons of his black shirt unfastened and his sexy Adam’s apple, which made one’s heart quiver upon catching sight of him.
  • Ruan Shishi’s imagination began running wild as she stared at Yu Yimo. She always knew that he looked handsome, but never did she expect him to be so charming.
  • Yu Yimo was initially looking at the documents before him, but upon noticing Ruan Shishi’s overly intense gaze, he unexpectedly turned his eyes to meet hers.
  • Upon sensing the slight chilliness in the depth of his eyes, Ruan Shishi instantly came to her senses and quickly bowed her head.
  • Overwhelmed by shyness, she flushed with embarrassment.
  • Yu Yimo turned his gaze back on his documents as though nothing had happened.
  • It was as silent as the dead inside the car throughout the ride. Ruan Shishi kept staring outside the car window, but her mind was preoccupied with the incident just now, as well as that look in Yu Yimo’s eyes.
  • She was so absorbed in her thoughts that she didn’t notice that the car had stopped; it was Du Yue who reminded her instead. “We have arrived, Madam.” He pulled the car door open for her and made an inviting gesture.
  • Ruan Shishi got out of the car with the assumption that Yu Yimo would get out of the car as well. Instead, the car sped away again in her face, leaving only both Du Yue and her.
  • Ruan Shishi was instantly baffled. Didn’t he say that they were going to visit their new home together?
  • Du Yue, who stood beside her, could tell what she was thinking. He explained to her, “Madam, the President has an urgent meeting this morning. He will have lunch with you later.”
  • Oh, so that’s the reason, thought Ruan Shishi as her expression looked much better. Then, she seemed to think of something as she turned to say to Du Yue, “Assistant Du, can you please stop calling me Madam?”
  • She couldn’t help feeling awkward whenever she heard him calling her Madam. After all, it was normal for her to have not gotten used to being addressed as the wife of the Yu Family Group’s CEO since it was only the second day of her marriage to Yu Yimo.
  • She said to Du Yue, “Just call me by my name—Ruan Shishi.”
  • Du Yue directly ignored her words and pointed at a villa opposite them as he said, “Madam, this is the place where the President normally lives. It will also be the place where you will be staying.”
  • Ruan Shishi looked in the direction Du Yue was pointing at and saw in front of her a single isolated luxurious mansion with a courtyard attached.
  • So Yu Yimo is staying here? she thought to herself.
  • Upon entering the house, Ruan Shishi kept turning her eyes as she surveyed the place.
  • The villa’s interior was renovated to have an ash-colored theme, which Ruan Shishi thought perfectly suited Yu Yimo’s cold and distant character.
  • Then, Du Yue brought her upstairs to the second floor and pushed open the door of a room that was adjacent to the main bedroom. He said to her, “Madam, this will be your room in the future.”
  • The room’s decoration was simple; it was also decorated in the color that the owner of this house preferred.
  • Ruan Shishi instantly got a little nervous when she saw the big Simmons bed.
  • She would be lying in the same bed with Yu Yimo in the future! As she imagined the scenario, Ruan Shishi couldn’t help but feel her throat tighten; even her breath shortened a little.
  • Du Yue, who was beside her, saw that her face was blushing. He asked nervously at once, “Are you alright, Madam? Are you feeling unwell?”
  • “Nope, I am fine.” Ruan Shishi felt even more embarrassed upon being asked that question.
  • Du Yue could never read Ruan Shishi’s thoughts at that moment. He continued, “This room hasn’t been decorated yet because the President said that your room must be decorated according to your preferences. So, I will take you to the shopping center in awhile.”
  • “Alright.” Ruan Shishi nodded.
  • After they left the room, Du Yue pointed at the room next door and said, “By the way, Madam, the President is staying next door to you.”
  • Ruan Shishi was startled upon hearing Du Yue’s words.
  • So it turned out that she and Yu Yimo were going to be sleeping in separate rooms.
  • Ruan Shishi couldn’t help but breathe a long sigh of relief internally. She had been thinking about what she should do when she would have to meet Yu Yimo at night, but as it turned out, she had gotten nervous for nothing.
  • Seeing the slight change in her expression, Du Yue thought that she was upset; his assumption was normal after all, as no newly-wed couples would sleep in separate rooms.
  • He immediately tried to steer the topic of their conversation away by saying, “Madam, the President has always preferred his home to be quiet, so there aren’t any housekeepers in the house, but the house is cleaned regularly. In case you need anything…”
  • “No, no, I don’t need anything…” said Ruan Shishi as she immediately waved her hand to tell him that she was fine with the way things were.
  • As she followed Du Yue along the ride to the shopping center, Ruan Shishi had gained an understanding of the facilities nearby. The neighborhood was indeed for the rich people; she would have to walk half an hour to take the subway or a bus and such.
  • It seemed like she would have to wake up even earlier to go to work in the future.
  • Du Yue took Ruan Shishi to a shopping center near the Yu Family Group.
  • He said, “Madam, please take your time shopping around while I make a trip back to the office. The President will come over to have lunch with you after two hours.”
  • The shopping center was frequented by the upper-class women and ladies. Ruan Shishi, who was wearing a white T-shirt, looked out of place in contrast to the other shoppers.
  • As Ruan Shishi was window-shopping leisurely, someone suddenly called her from behind.
  • Ruan Shishi turned around and looked back to see a lady walking up to her while holding a man’s hand.
  • “Oh! It’s really you, Ruan Shishi.” The lady gave a light chuckle and leaned softly against the man next to her. “Xianli, what a right choice you have made back then. This pushover is still reeking of poverty!”
