Chapter 13 You Are My Wife

  • When Ruan Shishi woke up, the sky was already bright. She realized that it was 7.30 a.m. after checking the time.
  • “I’m doomed!” Ruan Shishi exclaimed in a low voice.
  • It was a Monday on this day, which was a working day. Initially, she planned to wake up at 7 a.m. so she would not be late.
  • Little did she expect that she would lose sleep on the previous night, which was why she overslept this morning.
  • Ruan Shishi rushed downstairs after washing up.
  • “Madam.” Du Yue’s voice rang in the living room.
  • Ruan Shishi looked at the direction where she heard his voice coming from.
  • Before her eyes, Du Yue was standing beside the dining table, whereas Yu Yimo was sitting by it. He was neatly dressed and had a pair of fork and knife in his hands, seeming like he had been having his breakfast for a while.
  • “Good morning,” Ruan Shishi finally said after she pulled herself together.
  • Du Yue pulled a chair beside Yu Yimo, signaling to Ruan Shishi that she could have her breakfast here.
  • Casting a glance at Yu Yimo, who was still in his usual cold demeanour, Ruan Shishi shook her head and said softly, “I’m not hungry.”
  • She was not sure whether Yu Yimo had cooled down or not. If not, would she not anger him more by showing up in front of him?
  • I won’t be that foolish.
  • As she talked, Ruan Shishi was about to escape from the scene.
  • However, Yu Yimo lifted his gaze to glance at her and said authoritatively, “Come and sit here.”
  • Not having the nerve to ignore Yu Yimo’s words, Ruan Shishi walked over obediently and sat down without hesitation.
  • Then, Du Yue served her breakfast and retreated sensibly.
  • While Yu Yimo continued eating, Ruan Shishi did not dare to move at all.
  • Firstly, she still felt guilty when facing Yu Yimo. If he knew that she had seen the card, he would probably kill her.
  • Secondly, Yu Yimo had perfect table manners which made her unable to stop herself from thinking of him as a nobleman by looking at him eating; this made Ruan Shishi hesitant to eat in front of him.
  • Half a minute later, Yu Yimo put his fork and knife down and wiped his mouth with a napkin. He then said indifferently, “Finish it.”
  • “Oh, okay.” Ruan Shishi did not dare to think further and quickly finished the bread and milk before her.
  • When Ruan Shishi finished her breakfast and was about to rush out for work, Yu Yimo’s car was already waiting outside.
  • The car seemed to be waiting for her.
  • Ruan Shishi was a bit hesitant. As gossip was a fearful thing, the company would be in an uproar if someone saw her getting out from the President’s car.
  • Besides, she did not wish to ride in the same car with Yu Yimo; it was too stressful.
  • I still wish to live for a little longer!
  • Therefore, Ruan Shishi said to Yu Yimo cautiously, “There’s no need to bother you. I can take the subway to the company by myself.”
  • Upon hearing this, Yu Yimo, who was reading the newspaper, lifted his gaze to look at Ruan Shishi. His gaze stopped at Ruan Shishi’s blushed face for a few seconds.
  • He then said, “Ruan Shishi, have you forgotten about something?”
  • Ruan Shishi was clueless. “What have I forgotten?”
  • “You’re my wife.”
  • “Oh.” Ruan Shishi got into the car without speaking another word.
  • Ruan Shishi felt her heart soften after hearing his words.
  • No matter what unpleasant incidents had happened between her and Yu Yimo, or how he previously was, those were all matters of the past.
  • Now, he was her husband, whereas she was his wife.
  • Should everything go smoothly without any accidents, they would be spending the rest of their lives together.
