Chapter 15 Congratulations

• “It’s okay.” Ruan Shishi did not notice the change of Wang Lei’s expression as her attention was paid to the ring.
• “Are you married, Shishi? When did it happen?” Wang Lei tilted her head and asked curiously.
• During her internship, Wang Lei had gotten a brief understanding of everyone in the department. She knew that Ruan Shishi had been single and did not even have a boyfriend. Hence, it was strange to see her putting on a wedding ring now.
• Despite knowing that her story would sound absurd, Ruan Shishi could not tell the truth either.
• Moreover, even if she told people that she had a blind date with Yu Family Group’s President and even became the chosen one, no one would probably believe her words.
• After a moment of thought, Ruan Shishi just said casually, “It happened just a few days ago. I met him during a blind date.”

• She then looked at the time and realized that it was already time for lunch. Hence, she said to Ruan Shishi, “Shishi, there are still a few things that I don’t really understand. How about this? Let’s have lunch together so you can explain them to me again.”
• Being worried that Ruan Shishi would not agree to her suggestion, she continued, “I’m really afraid that I would make mistakes and fail the internship.”
• She furrowed her brows and looked miserably at Ruan Shishi.
• With that being said, Ruan Shishi had no reason to reject Wang Lei anymore. Hence, she gladly agreed to her suggestion.
• They then soon arrived at Jiangzhou International Hotel.
• “Are we having our lunch here, Lei?”
• Jiangzhou International Hotel was the most expensive hotel in Jiangzhou City. Looking at its decoration and dining atmosphere, it was obvious that people could not walk in as they liked.
• At first, Wang Lei was walking in front of Ruan Shishi to lead the way.
• Upon hearing Ruan Shishi’s question, she immediately spun around and held Ruan Shishi’s arm. She said smilingly, “Yeah. I just made a reservation for a private booth.”
• “But isn’t it too expensive?” Ruan Shishi still found it inappropriate.
• Do we really need to be so extravagant just for lunch?
• “Shishi, I just want to express my gratitude to you throughout this period of time. Besides, I’ve made the reservation and it’ll be a waste if we don’t show up.” Wang Lei unconsciously held Ruan Shishi’s wrist tighter while speaking.
• She seemed to be afraid of Ruan Shishi escaping.
• However, Ruan Shishi did not notice Wang Lei’s small gestures because her focus had been put on the amount they would be spending on this meal.
• Seeing that Ruan Shishi did not speak anymore, Wang Lei quickly pulled her along and walked inside.
• When they entered the private booth, Ruan Shishi was again stunned by Jiangzhou International Hotel’s standard.
• The private booth was so luxuriously furnished that it could be described as the epitome of splendour and magnificence.
• Ruan Shishi looked at Wang Lei suspiciously and asked after pondering a while, “Lei, you’re not a second-generation rich person, are you?”
• When she heard Ruan Shishi’s question, Wang Lei did not answer but only smiled as though tacitly admitting it.
• Ruan Shishi felt a bit relieved after seeing her reaction.
• If Wang Lei was just a normal white-collar, she definitely would not come here for lunch. After all, it was not worth it to spend an amount that was worth one or even two months of salary for a meal.
• “Please sit, Shishi. Take a look at the menu and see what you would like to eat.” Wang Lei passed the menu to Ruan Shishi after sitting beside her.
• Ruan Shishi took the menu and opened it. She unwittingly sucked in a breath as the prices came into her sight first.
• After a quick look, she found that even the cheapest dish cost a four-digit amount.
• Are the dishes made of gold?
• “Lei, let’s change a place.” The prices on the menu gave Ruan Shishi a headache.
• However, Wang Lei just took the menu from her and said with a grin, “Shishi, I’ve said that this meal is on me. You don’t need to worry.”
• Wang Lei ordered the dishes to the waiter while browsing through the menu.
• At this time, Ruan Shishi felt the urge to go to the toilet.
• Since there was a restroom in the private booth, she directly went to it. When she returned to the table, appetizers and drinks had already been served.
• After she sat down, Wang Lei raised her cup of juice and said to her, “Congratulations on your job promotion, Shishi!”
• Ruan Shishi’s heart was filled with warmth upon hearing this. She took the cup of juice beside her and clinked it with Wang Lei’s. “Thank you, Lei.”
• Then, she took a sip and put it back on the table.
• Throughout this time, Wang Lei had been keeping her eyes on Ruan Shishi. She became a bit nervous after noticing that Ruan Shishi had only taken a sip of the juice.
• Hence, she gulped her cup of juice and after showing the empty cup to Ruan Shishi, she said, “Just finish it, Shishi. We’re celebrating your job promotion now!”
• Ruan Shishi found Wang Lei’s words reasonable as it was not wine but just a cup of juice; at most, it would only make her feel bloated. Hence, she did not think further and finished her cup of juice in one gulp.
• Wang Lei’s lips curled into a grin as she saw that Ruan Shishi had fallen into her trap. Then, she checked the time without Ruan Shishi noticing her actions.
