Chapter 6 Entrusting Her to Him

  • Registering for marriage on the first day of a blind date was a news that certainly sounded as shocking as an atomic bomb explosion.
  • But, such news sounded perfectly alright and normal when Yu Yimo said it out of his own mouth.
  • Ruan Shishi, though, was extremely nervous. Her mind was on full alert as she watched Madam Liu’s expressions closely so that she could flee the scene at any minute when she had to.
  • Much to her surprise, after a brief silence, both Professor Ruan and Madam Liu came to their senses and chorused, “Great! Well done for registering your marriage!”
  • What…?! Did I hear it wrongly?
  • Ruan Shishi looked back and forth between Professor Ruan and Madam Liu. “Dad, Mom, don’t you…” She thought to herself, Don’t you blame me for doing so?
  • Professor Ruan and Madam Liu paid no attention to Ruan Shishi’s reaction. Instead, they began the conversation of entrusting their child to Yu Yimo.
  • Professor Ruan held Ruan Shishi’s hand and placed it onto Yu Yimo’s palm. “Yimo, I am entrusting Shishi to you from now on. She is insensitive and careless while doing things, but she has her merits. She is kind, vivacious and ingenuous.”
  • The instant Ruan Shishi’s hand was placed on Yu Yimo’s, she felt a surge of electricity running throughout her body, making her tingle all over.
  • She instantly turned a crimson shade as she bowed her head shyly.
  • Yu Yimo didn’t make any promises. He replied briefly, “Don’t worry, Professor.”
  • For some reason, the few words from him made Ruan Shishi feel infinitely warm and safe. She secretly glanced at him out of the corner of her eyes.
  • Just as she expected, a handsome man like him looked perfect in every way.
  • The dinner ended perfectly.
  • Ruan Shishi saw Yu Yimo off downstairs under her parents’ orders; Yu Yimo walked at the front while Ruan Shishi walked behind him.
  • Ruan Shishi couldn’t help but blush as she looked at Yu Yimo’s tall figure.
  • Her mind flew back to the scene that happened a while ago.
  • She had assumed that her parents would fly into a rage; instead, nothing of that sort had happened.
  • That was all because of the man beside her.
  • As she thought about it, she secretly shot another glance at Yu Yimo before her gaze fell upon his hand that was wearing his ring.
  • Her heart began thumping wildly once again, and her hand that had touched Yu Yimo began heating up again.
  • Never did she expect that Yu Yimo, the man who looked as icy as an iceberg on the outside, could have such a warm palm that made him feel so dependable.
  • It was as if every problem would be solved as long as he was present, like the way they had registered their marriage without their household registers.
  • Ruan Shishi couldn’t help but sigh with admiration as Yu Yimo was really powerful.
  • Absorbed in her thoughts, she failed to notice that Yu Yimo had stopped in front of her.
  • So, she butted her head against his strong back. Startled, she cried out softly and raised her head before she immediately took three steps back in embarrassment.
  • But Yu Yimo turned to face her with a gold card in his hand. He handed it to Ruan Shishi and said, “Tell me if the money is not enough. The password is six zeroes.”
  • His stony expression looked much gentler under the light; even his eyes looked a bit less cold.
  • “Is this… for me?” Ruan Shishi took the gold card in a daze and still felt that the whole situation was unbelievable as she stared at the gold card in her hand.
  • A gold card from Yu Yimo must have a lot of money on it!
  • Yu Yimo watched with his own eyes as Ruan Shishi failed to keep her cupidity from showing on her face.
  • Just then, Du Yue drove the car over to pick Yu Yimo up.
  • Yu Yimo’s kissable-looking lips couldn’t help but curl slightly upward as he looked at Ruan Shishi, who was still absorbed in her thoughts.
  • But his faint smile faded in the blink of an eye before he returned to his usual indifferent self.
  • Yu Yimo got into the car and winded the car window down. He said flatly to Ruan Shishi, “I’ll pick you up tomorrow to take you to our new home.”
  • “Huh?” Only upon hearing Yu Yimo’s voice did Ruan Shishi come back to her senses. But as soon as she raised her eyes to look toward him, Yu Yimo had winded the car window back up, and the car drove off without giving her the time to think.
  • It took Ruan Shishi a few seconds to get the point in Yu Yimo’s words just now.
  • Did he just say ‘new home’?
  • “Our new home.” Ruan Shishi repeated what Yu Yimo had said while holding the gold card, and her face couldn’t help but blush again.
