• I slowed down as we neared the turn off and I took the road that ran parallel to the river. I steered the bike off the road and headed towards the river. I parked the bike next to the grove of trees and Anna climbed off when I switched the bike off.
• I climbed off the bike and helped her with the helmet. She handed me the jacket and I placed both on the bike’s seat. I took the food from her and started walking into the cover of the trees and I heard her behind me.
• “This is the Russian River,” I said to her as I sat down on the ground.
