Chapter 816

• We waited another hour until full darkness had settled around us and I explained to Malcolm how we would do this while we waited. Not one car had passed us as we waited and we crossed the road quickly. The open field was pitch black and I saw the dim lights of the house in the distance.
• We stopped at the corner of the house and I listened. I could hear movement inside and then her voice as she asked him to let her go and he laughed at her. I looked at Malcolm and I nodded my head. I had told him earlier that I would confirm first that they were inside before we just kicked the door down.
• I made my way to the back of the house because I had heard them in the front. I picked the lock of the back door and we stood in the dark kitchen and Malcolm closed the door quietly behind him. We had our guns out and I stepped forward.
