• It was 5 PM and I was about to close the laptop for the day when the message came through. Someone had just hacked into the Council’s server. I sat there and watched him as he accessed the lists of members on the Council and I started my own trace, copying everything he was doing while also searching his own computer.
• When he accessed Kiran’s emails I added both our names to the search on his computer and I sat back and watched him. I smiled and turned his camera on as I hacked his computer and I looked at his face. He turned to someone else and looked straight at the camera and the screen went dark.
• “And who might you be?” I asked out loud as I went back to the image of his face. I had his IP address and his location appeared. It was a coffee shop’s wi-fi in Leavenworth. I was confused for a second because Kiran had wiped Noah’s memories but something must have happened as I looked at everything on his laptop.
