• I kept thinking about what Bo had said just before we left. He had mentioned the wolves howling in their heads and Levi’s eyes had glazed over, like he was momentarily lost in thought. I had no idea what that was about and I knew better than to ask.
• There were certain things that Levi just didn’t discuss, like his first wife. I knew that she had been a witch, that Levi had struggled to make her a part of his world but that she had accepted him completely and then died after Tala’s birth.
• Levi never spoke of his life with her or shared any memories. Thalia didn’t know much about her either. She had told me that when Levi loved, he loved hard and that once you were in his circle, you only left it if you betrayed him or died.
