• Blaise shifted underneath my skin but he still didn’t make any effort to talk to me. I couldn’t imagine living my life without his voice in my head. He had tried to warn me and I’d blocked him out. I knew he was mad at me and now I’d broken the connection between him and his father as well.
• Carter dropped us off at the airport in Aberdeen and he hugged us both. The four hour drive there had been in silence. Strange enough Slade and I could still speak to one another in our minds, our link remained as strong as ever.
