• “It’s your time, William,” Kiran said and I wondered why someone else was getting the Alpha seat instead of his son.
• The pack bent the knee and I didn’t have to be a mind reader to see what was going through William’s mind. He was happy but also confused, there was an unspoken reason for Kai not becoming Alpha that only I wasn’t aware of.
• Each member swore their allegiance to William and congratulated him. Two men, some years older than Kiran, talked to him at the back of the room. They didn’t talk for long and the two men left soon after that but I didn’t feel any animosity over the situation.
