Chapter 729

• We spent our days sight-seeing and visiting with Peter and Claire. I spoke to Kiran a few times and he only laughed when I told him about the locals of Castlewellan. I was eager to leave, and now I understood why Kiran never felt the need to return to Ireland.
• The people were great, a bit overboard, but still great. They refused to accept payment for anything. We stopped going to the stores and drove further away when we wanted to buy things. I took Adelie to the church where Kiran and Adara got married, and I felt drawn to the front of that altar. I stood there with my head lowered and took in the magnificence of the church. This is where Kiran took all of Adara’s pain; this was where he claimed her for the second time and got shot.
