Chapter 348

• I went back upstairs after I ate breakfast with Adara and she stayed downstairs to help Norah with the kids. I just needed a few minutes alone, to center myself. I got into the shower and I shaved for the first time in more than a week.
• “What time do you want to do this thing?” Adara asked me after I showered and came back downstairs, I shrugged instead of answering her. “You shaved.” She looked at me and smiled.
• “I thought it was about time,” I said to her and she laughed.
