• Most of my time was spent pouring over the books and the financial ledgers of the castle. I was pleasantly surprised to learn, as I went through the books which showed our income, that I now owned 15 hotels scattered throughout Europe. Thanks to Kiran, I knew everything there was to know about running a hotel. Since I had taken over from Malachi, I had tripled the hotel’s revenue, and now I couldn’t wait to pick his brain some more.
• “Come in,” I said, as someone knocked on the door of my office.
