Chapter 774
- I groaned as my eyelids fluttered open and realized it was their voices that had woken me. The room was dark and I felt nauseous and lightheaded. I was lying on my bed and my hands instantly went to my chest before I shifted into a sitting position and swung my legs over the edge.
- I was alone in my room and I stood up slowly. My chest was more sensitive than my abdomen and the bullet wounds were still red. One of the bullets must have struck a rib, because I could feel it when I took a deep breath.
- I took the stairs down to the living room. Their voices were coming from the kitchen. I caught my reflection in the mirror on the living room wall and I looked a little pale. My hands shook slightly from blood loss but I didn’t feel as lightheaded anymore.
