- The conversation with William and Saga had gone better than he’d hoped it would. Saga had forgiven him when she didn’t need to. Some days, it was hard to think of who her mother had been, and that Saga had turned out so differently. She was good and pure, loving and caring, and he didn’t deserve her forgiveness for his deceit.
- He got back into his car and drove away from their house. Death had given him peace for three years, and with one visit, he’d ruined his life, again. He should’ve sat Kai down and just had a conversation with him about Fresno, but like most other things, he overreacted, and let his emotions rule his head.
- Kiran drove to Malachi’s house and parked his Navigator in front of the garage. He hadn’t spoken to Malachi in a few days, either, and he knew, sooner rather than later, Malachi would want to know everything about Lucy. He deserved to know the truth as well, but Adara deserved to hear it first.
