Chapter 342

• After the morning that my ears bled, I started having blackouts, losing time. I’d sit in my office busy with paperwork and I’d look up and it would be three hours later, the same paperwork still in front of me. I had no recollection of what happened during this time and I decided to open Karani’s chest again.
• I didn’t want to tell Adara about the blackouts, there was nothing any of us could do for me anyway and I didn’t want her to worry. Then the guilt hit me again, this was as good as lying, not telling her something she needed to know, that’s how she would see it.
• After another blackout at the office, I went home late, it was already six pm and I had missed dinner. There were five missed calls from Adara and I wondered how mad she was at me. I drove home and parked in the garage.
