• ‘Your Majesty,’ Carter said, trying to open a link to Kai, but he was met with absolute silence. There was just nothing there. Carter sighed as he realized that Kai must have blocked the link again. He had been pretty upset with Adelie earlier and had stormed into her chambers.
• He didn’t want to be here tonight, but he agreed. Adelie had gone too far this time. The normal pranks were all fun and games, but this was serious, and he knew Kai had taken great offense. She needed to accept that her life was here now.
