Chapter 605

• Everyone stood around in Kiran’s bedroom where his cooling body lay on the bed. I couldn’t take it anymore. The emotions and grief were stifling, and I could taste the bitter hate I had for Death for not keeping his word.
• Saga and Adara were on either side of him, crying. When she’d first arrived, I’d held Saga tightly. She became hysterical when she saw his body, and even William couldn’t hold her back, as she fought her way into the room.
• I was pissed off that everyone just seemed to accept that he was dead. They all thought I’d lost my mind because I refused to believe that he was really dead. I couldn’t breathe in the room but I also couldn’t leave my father.
