• “Please take your seats,” Kiran said as we stood in front of two hundred Alphas watching our every move. They sat down and we remained standing as I surveyed the room. Kiran was checking auras as I weighed souls. Levi hadn’t shown up for the meeting and we weren’t inclined to offer it to someone else.
• “Welcome to Seward, gentlemen. The first annual meeting of the New Council is now open,” Kiran said and we sat down together.
• “On the tables in front of you, you’ll find the new rules and a query form attached to it. If there’s anything you’d like to know or contest, write it down on the form,” I said as everyone reached for their copy and started reading.
