• Kari shifted on the bed and sat up straight. Her gaze bore into me, and I couldn’t look at her. I did feel guilty about Raven, and it was hard to explain. I didn’t feel the guilt when I was with Raven, only when I was with Kari.
• “Kai, are you seeing someone else?” she asked me and got out of bed, pulling her robe on. “Kai! Answer me!” Anger radiated off her, and I sighed.
