• Lexi’s POV
• On the drive to mother’s house my phone rings again. I know that it is either Luca or mother, so I don’t bother checking the caller Id. “Hello,” mother’s voice comes through the phone line barely above a whisper. “Hello, dear I just wanted to let you know that Matteo finally went to sleep. So, there isn’t any need for the two of you to cancel your plans.” I reply “Luca went to handle some business at the club, so it’s just me. I don’t mind one bit to come get him. We are almost there now.” She answers me, “no that won’t be necessary you go and have fun with your husband. You never leave the estate, so go have a good time while he is allowing you to. If I need you, I will call you I promise. I love you good night, dear.”
• She hangs up before I can speak another word. Our SUV is already slowing down to turn around. Which only goes to show me that these men do listen to everything. I scoot to the edge of my seat and pop my head between Jason and Aldo. “Are we headed to where Luca is?” Aldo is the one who turns around to talk with me. “Yes, as soon as we heard that you didn’t need to pick up the baby, I told Jason to turn around.” I thank them and lean back. I don’t see neither one of them get on their phones to inform Luca that we are coming. I would love to surprise him. Show up so I can see exactly what or who is with.
