Chapter 42

• Lexi’s POV
• ‘I feel relieved hearing my mom say this to me. This was my whole plan I wanted to show everyone that Lexi is still under my protection, but think Kat meant more to me then Lexi. That way if my enemies decide to kill the person, they think I am closest to, then Kat would die. I wish I could explain this to my mother, I told my papa how I truly feel, because I know he wouldn’t dare speak a word to anyone.’ I let out a deep sigh while I pinch the bridge of my nose with my thumb and pointer finger. I peep down the drive and see that Lexi must be stalling before returning to the house. She doesn’t want to see me, but that choice isn’t hers to make. I don’t want Lexi to spend too much time outside she might tire herself out. I’ll just go inside, that way she’ll come back up here.
• “Mother why don’t we go in, and finish this conversation. I’m tired I’ve had a long flight home, and want to rest for a while.” I ask her while turning on my heels and going straight to my study. When my butt hits my seat behind my desk, I open up my laptop and pull up the security cameras. There is a blue BMW in the driveway, not sure who the car belongs to, I jump up. Lexi and LJ are outside. I’m about to take off running when mother says, “Luca Doc is here for the check-up.” I release the breath I didn’t know I was holding in. My hands were still shaking, there was no hiding my emotions at this moment. I walk back behind my desk and plop down in my leather chair.
